Chieti, 6 October 2022 – LIFE ALL-IN project has reached an important milestone: the elastic extrusion. This milestone focuses on the integration of the elastic extrusion process into the AHPs machine, and the process will avoid the use of pre-made elastics filament.

Fameccanica, project coordinator and in charge of this action, used a strategy to qualify the process in two steps:

  1. Validation of the NW corrugation process, called ARIEL, realized in the correct width necessary for the in-line creation of elastic waist band for both for adult and baby pant diapers
  2. Validation of the in-line extrusion on Ariel waist band. This step makes possible to validate the process and product within line extruded elastics

As ARIEL process, Fameccanica realized the complete validation of the process at full speed 300 m/min, and after testing the different solutions was able to obtain the final configuration for the long run. In line extrusion has been validated as well on final product width.
